Marie-Claire has worked for more than 22 years in Earth Observation and space research. She gained her PhD from the University of Plymouth, during which time she held a series of research posts. As a consultant in EO for the past 20 years, Marie-Claire has led numerous technical studies for UK and international clients and now leads Assimila’s consultancy work in the domain of Earth Observation for Climate Change.
Throughout her career, Marie-Claire has maintained an active participation within the international EO community, in particular with the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) and the Group on Earth Observations (GEO). She has provided technical, facilitation and managerial support to the EC’s Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) and now Copernicus programmes, currently supporting the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) to deliver the EC’s Copernicus Climate Change service (C3S).
